Why I want to meet Jeff Gordon
Years ago, after being severely beaten by my ex, and while recovering in hospital, the only channel I could get on the telly was broadcasting a NASCAR race. Up until then, I had thought auto racing was stupid. But I was bored that day, so I watched. And I saw the rookie Jeff Gordon overcome being bumped and passed and sent to the back of the pack to eventually win the race. That day, I realised that no matter what, I could overcome if I set my mind to it and I adopted his then-slogan: Refuse To Lose. Jeff became my favourite driver that day, and remains so.
